Fuel upgrades for the B58 Gen 2 and S58 350 bar fuel system are finally here!
After over a year of development, Nostrum are excited to introduce their HDEV6 350 bar high-flow injectors for the S58 and B58 Gen 2 engines! These injectors deliver a 26% increase in fuel flow compared to stock S58 injectors, making them the perfect upgrade for a significant horsepower boost when paired with proper tuning. Nostrum estimate that these injectors can support up to 1000+ wheel horsepower—without the need for secondary port or methanol injection!
Tested and proven on A90/A91 Supras (B58 Gen 2) and BMW X3M (S58), these new injectors have been rigorously tested on the track, dyno, and street to ensure they meet the highest standards. As Nostrum’s first 350 bar product, they made sure to push the design through extensive performance validation to guarantee flawless results.
Each set of injectors comes with everything you need for a fast, easy installation, including clear, detailed instructions. When it’s time to tune, Nostrum provide injector data for your dealer or tuner, ensuring a smooth process. Thanks to the direct fitment, you won’t need to worry about secondary injection controllers, expensive port injection manifolds, or the extra maintenance and drawbacks that come with a meth injection system. By upgrading your DI fuel system, you maintain all the OEM ECU’s engine management system diagnostics and safety functions – resulting in a much happier and responsive system!
Every Nostrum part is backed by their limited lifetime warranty, offering you peace of mind and confidence in your purchase. They provide comprehensive solutions that come complete with all the necessary components and expert support, from installation to tuning, thanks to their in-house customer service and calibration engineers.
Upgrade your fuel system with confidence and take your performance to the next level with Nostrum!
Frequently ask questions:
- Will these work in a Gen 1 B58?
The Gen 2 injectors are intended for use with the Gen 2 B58 and S58 engines only!
The Gen 2 B58, like the one found in the A90 Supra, and the S58 use a 350 bar high pressure fuel system from the factory, where the Gen 1 B58 engine uses a 250 bar system.
Although the injectors look similar, the 250 bar system uses a Bosch HDEV5 injector with a 7.5mm diameter pintle shaft, while the 350 bar system uses a Bosch HDEV6 injector with a 6mm diameter pintle shaft. Although you may be able to install a 6mm stem injector into a B58 gen1 (a little too easily!), the Gen 2 injector will not seal in a Gen 1 engine, because of the teflon seal stem diameter difference; and a Gen 1 injector will not physically fit into a Gen 2 engine.
- I see a lot of mentions about OEM equivalent spray patterns. What does that mean and why is it important?
While increasing flow rate is critical to making more horsepower, there are other factors to consider when choosing fuel system upgrades. A bigger injector isn’t always a better injector! While a massive injector may flow a large volume of fuel at WOT and make a ton of peak horsepower, that only tells part of the story. A lot of our customers are still street/daily driving their cars, meaning things like cold starts, idle quality, low speed drivability, soot and overall tunability are equally as important as making the biggest possible peak horsepower number. No one wants to deal with long cranks, black soot all over your bumpers, or not being able to start the car if it gets just a bit too cold out. Additionally, the wrong spray pattern can result in liquid fuel impinging on the cylinder walls, essentially washing away some of the oil that is lubricating your engine! This unburnt fuel ends up diluting your oil, which can increase mechanical wear to internal engine components.
This is where Nostrum’s research and development really starts to outshine the competition. Nostrum has invested significant time and resources into acquiring the equipment and machinery necessary to deliver an OEM level of quality on their injectors. Their spray patternation and arc flash machines give them an unparalleled look at how an OEM injector is designed and how it operates. By developing their fuel systems to maintain the OEM spray pattern as best as possible, you can expect these fuel systems to not only deliver the performance you have come to expect from Nostrum, but also perform reliably day after day, regardless of weather or the type of fuel you are using.
- Do you offer an upgraded HPFP for the Gen 2 B58?
While Nostrum don’t offer their own HPFP kit, they have teamed up with Dorch Engineering to offer their B58 Gen 2 350bar HPFP kits! This is the next generation of their DS25 pump, designed to operate at 350 bar, meaning it works perfectly on your Supra, Z4, or any other Gen 2 B58 without compromise. By combining their efforts, Nostrum are able to offer a complete fuelling solution that is proven and performs to the standards of both companies.
