BMW’s E36 3-Series has become a firm favourite amongst the drifting community. Cheap, plentiful, with a perfectly balanced RWD chassis and an abundance of tuning products available, it’s easy to see why.

A common upgrade on both E30/E36 models to increase negative camber and give more steering angle clearance is to widen the front wheel track by 1″ on each side by fitting the longer and lighter aluminium control arms from the later E46.

This isn’t a straight swap over, however, as the bracket offsets are different and the E46 wishbone has a hex bush fitting, while the E30/E36 wishbone has a round bush fitting.
